President Trump reiterated today what he said yesterday: "DACA is dead."
In another series of Tweets, again asserting that Mexico can and should intervene with illegal human traffic that is traversing through Mexico enroute to the U.S, the President threatend to end NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, which he says is an agreement that is heavily lop-sided against the U.S.
"... Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S. They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA. NEED WALL! ..."
He was emphatic about Liberal laws like "Catch & Release" imploring congressional Republicans to implement the legislative "nuclear option" and to pass tough laws against illegal immigration and the consequent increase in drugs and crime coming to the U.S.
"...DACA is dead because the Democrats didn’t care or act, and now everyone wants to get onto the DACA bandwagon... No longer works. Must build Wall and secure our borders with proper Border legislation. Democrats want No Borders, hence drugs and crime! ..."
In another Tweet, he said:
"...Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch & Release. Getting more dangerous. “Caravans” coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE DACA DEAL! ..."
Trump asserts that our country is being stolen, and emphasized the urgency that Congress must act to remedy this.
"...Congress must immediately pass Border Legislation, use Nuclear Option if necessary, to stop the massive inflow of Drugs and People. Border Patrol Agents (and ICE) are GREAT, but the weak Dem laws don’t allow them to do their job. Act now Congress, our country is being stolen! ... "
President Trump referenced the large contingent of people, who have employed social justice activism to advance on their trek to the U.S. by organizing and enlisthing the help of non-profit organizations, and announcing that they are going to ask for asylum when they get to the U.S. Border
"...Mexico has the absolute power not to let these large “Caravans” of people enter their country. They must stop them at their Northern Border, which they can do because their border laws work, not allow them to pass through into our country, which has no effective border laws..."
And even while threatening Mexico with ending NAFTA, the President seemed to seek Mexico's help with the flow of illegal traffic, "at least until Congress changes our immigration laws! "
"... Mexico is making a fortune on NAFTA...They have very strong border laws - ours are pathetic. With all of the money they make from the U.S., hopefully they will stop people from coming through their country and into ours, at least until Congress changes our immigration laws! ..."
The President summed it up yesterday, when he made this statement before his Easter address:
"...Mexico has got to help us at the border. If they’re not going to help us at the border, it’s a very sad thing between our two countries ... Mexico has got to help us at the border. And a lot of people are coming in because they want to take advantage of DACA, and we’re going to have to really see ... They had a great chance. The Democrats blew it. They had a great, great chance but we’ll have to take a look, because Mexico has got to help us at the border. They flow right through Mexico. They send them into the United States. It can’t happen that way anymore..."
But that was not the end of it. Trump is going to use the Military to protect the border:
“We are going to be guarding our border with our military. That’s a big step,” Trump told reporters gathered at the White House. “We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing, and by the way never showing up for court.”
